For an international technology organization active in advanced automation solutions, we are looking for an experienced Senior / Lead Electromechanical Engineer to support the development of next-generation sorter technology.
The focus of this assignment is the transition from traditional power rail solutions to innovative contactless power transfer technology based on Inductive Power Transfer (IPT). You will play a key role in the feasibility phase, technical concept development, supplier evaluation, and integration strategy.
As a senior technical specialist, you will combine your expertise in electromechanical engineering, system architecture, and supplier management to define a robust solution that can be integrated into existing sorter platforms with minimal modifications.
In this role, you will:
- Define and refine system requirements for an IPT solution applicable to three different sorter equipment platforms;
- Develop system architectures and technical concepts, including assessing the impact on existing designs;
- Identify and define key interfaces between the IPT system, track, carriers, PLC controls, safety systems, and commissioning processes;
- Evaluate available technologies and suppliers based on technical capabilities, feasibility, and integration possibilities;
- Lead technical discussions with suppliers and support the supplier selection and RFQ process;
- Prepare supplier specification packages and technical documentation;
- Perform early-stage technical risk assessments, including FMEA and HSRA;
- Develop a pragmatic validation and test strategy covering concept validation, factory testing, and pilot implementation;
- Provide clear technical recommendations, decision support, and an implementation roadmap;
- Ensure smooth integration of the IPT solution into existing sorter systems while minimizing design changes.

Job requirements
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electromechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field;
- Extensive experience in electromechanical product development and system integration;
- Strong knowledge of system architecture, requirements engineering, and technical concept development;
- Experience evaluating and selecting technical solutions and suppliers;
- Experience with risk analysis methodologies such as FMEA and safety assessments;
- The ability to translate complex technical challenges into clear decisions, recommendations, and implementation plans;
- A proactive and self-starting mindset with strong ownership of technical project.
